Scientists recently showed a car that runs on air at a car show named the Volvo Air Motion. This car is only a scale model of it and does not run. This car uses turbines to pull air through the car and propel it forwards. The car weighs less than 1000 pounds, which is partially due to the car having no heavy engine. The car doesn't depend on gasoline so it is very environmentally friendly. This car is not the only model that runs on air. The Airpod is another car that uses air as fuel and actually runs.
Wow! The fact that this car runs on air is amazing because it is very environmentally friendly and can save people a lot of money on gas. It's good that scientists are already thinking about these kind of things. We are going to run out of oil eventually and need a good backup.

I think it is a great idea to use air as fuel. It is a great way to save money on gas, and a great way to protect the environment from pollution. It is wonderful that scientists came up with this idea because when we run out of oil we can use air powered cars. It will be great to see these cars on the road in the future.
ReplyDelete1. I think we will have to use these cars in a couple of years. I think it will definetly be during our lifetime. When we run out of oil which will be soon, we will have to use these cars.
I think that this car is so cool! And since it has no engine, that must mean it has no emissions. This car is a great alternative. It uses what we have an abundance of and uses it without actually taking away. And then it makes no pollution at all. That is truly an ingenious idea. I sure hope to drive one when I can drive.
ReplyDelete3. I think that although the air powered is fantastic and it will completely revolutionize the vehicles we drive, a lot of families can't use it. There are electric cars that families can use. Since many families consist of more than 2 people so air powered cars would be too small. I'm sure that they will create larger models for families, but it will be a huge challenge with the luggage that families might also bring along with them.

I always thought water powered cars were cool, but now I think these are even better. An air powered car eliminates the weight of all the engine, gas and other useless weights. It is powered by compressed air! The part of it being less than 1,000 pounds is amazing. I wonder how much this car would be. Wouldn't it be cheaper because of all the weight gone and it being small? I hope I can get one of those when I can drive.
ReplyDelete1) We will probably never NEED this car. When I say need, I don't mean want. It will sure be fun to drive it, but it will have a down side in the winter and spring. Winter is too cold and Spring it rains a lot. We might need to have an air powered car in the future, but we will probably not go with this design because of the lacking requirements of comfort.

This is a good method that humans can use as a backup if we eventually run out of oil. I'm glad that the car doesn't require engine and it'll help to move since it needs the air to turn its turbine. It's nice to know that scientists are thinking of new ways to make cars that are environmentally friendly.
ReplyDelete1. We would need to start using these cars soon, so that it can be well-adapted into our society and refrain from using oil to depend on for our cars.
2. People might be willing if they accept the fact that gasoline cars will not last for a long time and it's time to switch to another type of "fuel".
3. I think air powered car would be better because it's renewable (depending on where you live). However electricity takes up a lot of energy to be produced and air powered cars should be used where there are a lot of wind and can be enjoyed by many people and save the environment at the same time.
